First, a simple point:If you're expecting a high-pressure sales pitch with lots of brightly colored text and hard-sell phrases that make you feel like an idiot if you DON'T buy the product, you have really come to the wrong place.
I'm not going to try to tell you that "THIS IS THE BEST RESUME WRITING BOOK EVER", because you know what? It depends who you ask. It's not a contest.
I will say this: Read the rest of this page, and if you agree with what I'm saying or feel it makes sense to you, then I believe my book will help you. If you disagree, then please move one.
Now about the book and why I wrote it:
I've always believed that the best person to write your resume is you. You know yourself best, and you know better than any writer what it is you want to achieve. Secondly, you will save a significant amount of money by doing it yourself. I realize there are cheap and even free resume services, resume samples and templates out there... but I don't recommend using them because there is a lot more to writing a resume than format.
Beware of offers that don't even require a telephone discussion or meeting. To truly and effectively represent you on paper, a professional cv writer will need to spend some time getting to know you, studying your background, pulling out your skills and attributes. This cannot be done through a single email submission. That's why I caution you on deciding to hire someone to write your resume/cv. There are some reputable professionals out there who are thorough and quite capable, but they aren't the cheap ones. Others will simply list your past jobs and responsibilities, squeeze it (or pad it) to fit a perfect 2-page layout, and check the spelling. That is NOT resume writing, at least not the kind that gets you interviews.
Write your own resume. All you need is the right kind of guidance, and you can write a great resume - one that gets you lots of interviews.
